Memories of Santa - Pere Noel
This Figurine - Ornament is dated 1921, representing Santa Claus in 1921. These are not the cheap versions being manufactured and sold currently by Walmart. They are the original productions made in the 1980-90's.
Santa is wearing a full length silvery gray suit with a hood and white and black fur trim. He carries a large flat basket on his back filled with fruits and flowers.
I am listing my entire collection individually for collectors who may be interested in obtaining just one or two pieces they have been searching for. This collection is incredibly rare. Photo's can be seen of my entire collection below. The figurine has a gold rope strung through the top, suitable for hanging as an ornament. Whether displayed as a figurine or as an ornament, they are just as appealing to the eye.
I do not have the original boxes nor any certifications if there were any at the time of purchase. Some of the figures are marked with a gold label identifying them.
This figurine has a gold label that says: © 1993 Christmas Reproductions Inc. Made in Korea. No evidence of paint loss, cracks, or chips. In excellent condition. Slight discoloration due to age, This figure is approximately 5 inches tall. There is an area on the front bottom of the coat that was missed when painted by the company. Paint has not chipped off. Some Information on the history of the collection:
Originally manufactured by Christmas Eve, Inc. and then in later years by Christmas Reproductions, Inc., this unique collection portrays Santa Claus through the years. Inspired by chocolate molds, advertisements and Antique postcards, these highly detailed figurines portray Santa from his origin as St. Nicholas to how we know him today as Jolly Ole" Santa Claus.
Though Santa Claus has surely changed over the years, from his garments to his country of origin, the Story of St. Nicholas and the spirit he brought to Christmas has remained consistent and has maintained interest and excitement as Santa Claus today.
Each figure in the Collection is made of earthenware, one of the oldest materials used to make ceramics.
The earthenware itself is created using a mixture of koalin, quartz, and feldspar and is then fired at over 2000 degrees Fahrenheit. Each piece is then individually hand painted, and given a stain wash to highlight the fine details of each Santa.
The Earthenware collection was produced from 1983 to 2002. and was comprised of 139 Santa's. At the time of listing I have 39 to sell and three that need restoring.
