I read and enjoyed Mr. Gaines’ book a while back (the tension created by what the main character would actually find when he actually found what he was looking for made for a good mystery without being a mystery) and decided to try the audio version. Mr. James treatment of this work has me spoiled! He has a delightful arsenal of voices and accents, and does such a nice job with characters’ quirks. His smooth baritone voice very nicely handles those little variations in the way African American and white southerners talk--his southern women’s voices are charming!
This audio book is in excellent condition and has been listened to once. Retail value $51.75. This is a library edition; it is packaged in a sturdy binder for repeated use. (not a library copy, this is from my own personal collection).
